Brilliant ways to tidy up, heal and set your life in order.
1. Double Trouble
Dampen kitchen paper towels with a few drops of vegetable oil to wipe greasy surfaces. Then wipe the area again with a clean towel.
2. Spray and Sparkle
Don’t shake off spilled glitter from your dirty clothes as it only spreads deeper and further. Place the cloth on a towel, glitter-side out, and cover the area with hairspray. Was as usual after the hairspray has dried and hardened.
3. Makeup Buddy
Once you’ve done your makeup, wash your brushes with some baby shampoo. After rinsing them well, hang them up to dry using a hanger and pegs. This way the water won’t drip back down into the handles and loosen the bristles.
4. Handy Filters
Coffee filters can also double up as handy screen cleaners for your laptops, mobiles and other electronic gadgets. They contain a material that helps catch the dust on the screen, leaving you with cleaner gadgets.
5. Squeaky Clean
Kitchen sponges pick up a lot of bacteria, especially if you’re the kind who hates the waste of replacing them every few weeks. To use one safely for longer, every night, after you’re done with the dishes, just pop the sponge in the microwave for 30 seconds. Wait a minute or two before pulling it out to avoid burning your fingers.
6. Pan Redeemer
If you’ve burnt your frying pan, fill it with water and add a cup of white vinegar. Bring it to a boil, take it off the stove and add two tablespoons of baking soda. Let it sit for a while before you wipe the mixture, and scorch marks, right off.
7. Goodbye Rusty
If you’re guilty of leaving your knives lying around in the sink, chances are you’ve been struggling with rusty blades. Just soak them in a bowl with equal parts lemon juice and water for 10 minutes. Rinse and wipe dry.
8. Egg Savers
Crush leftover eggshells and add them to dish-washing soap for cleaning greasy dishes. Then use a sponge to scrub the utensils.
9. Fresh Toast
After you’ve done using the toaster, simply unplug it, and place a couple of damp paper towels between the lid and the surface. Wait while the heated steam cleans the grill. Then wipe your toaster dry with a paper towel.
10. Dust Buster
Does dust settle back on your TV screen just minutes after you have cleaned it? Next time, try wiping it with a dust cloth dampened with fabric softener. This is a useful method to keep dust at bay for longer spells.
